Less than 2 on a quantitative HCG is considered negative, I think. It is possible to have low HCG levels very, very early in pregnancy or w/ an ectopic pregnancy. It is also possible to have been pregnnant then have had an m/c. Another pregnancy test in a few days should give a clearer picture.

Your not pregnant based on that.

Levels of hCG in pregnancy

Human Chorionic Ganadotropin (hCG) is a hormone that can be detected in the urine and blood of humans. This hormone increases during pregnancy so it is common to measure the rise in level using Home Pregnancy Tests ( or HPTs, which measure hCG levels in the urine) or a hCG Beta test (which measures hCG levels in the blood serum). The hCG Beta is much more sensitive then the Home Pregnancy Test and you can usually get a positive result much earlier with a blood test than with the HPTs.
Usually the reference values for hCG Beta are as follows:

Men: less than 5.0 mIU/ml - Normal

Women: Non -pregnant - less than 5.0 mIU/ml - Negative/normal

*Borderline - Between 5.0 to 25.0 mIU/ml (you could be pregnant)

*Positive - Higher than 25.0 mIU/ml

No, you cannot be pregnant and have an HcG level of 2 @ 5-6 weeks. You might have miscarried. This number doubles itself every 30 hours or so during these first few weeks. You should be around 7000-25000!! I am sorry.

Sounds like a chemical pregnancy. Most labs and offices don't consider a pregnancy test to be postive if it's less then 5. If you've got a + test at home that means your levels where about 25-50 and if you got a 2 then you are more in likely losing the pregnancy.

I am sorry, I went through three mc's. *big hugs*

Have the blood test repeated and if the number hasn't climbed then you aren't pregnant.
