In Short King George had to raise funds to buy the army new boots and jackets and guns to defend the colonists against the French and Indians So he put a Tax on Tea because back then everyone drank Tea, But the greedy Colonists Rebelled and said we ain't paying that there tax.They threw the tea into Boston Harbour and said right that's it we is gonna declare our Independence and be downright nasty, King George was very upset but gave them his blessing wished them well and Bonne Voyage, anyway that's what we were taught in Canada and the rest is history

The document was made up to announce the new Independence of the United States from England and the KIng.
It affected everyone both here and in England as we told them we no longer will allow them to tax us and rule us.
