If you have a helper have them use a garden hose with out a spray nozzle from a safe point on the roof and drench areas slowly on the roof while you or someone is in the attic watching for the area it is leaking.

Water always flowes down. its above where the leak is. if you take the point where the leak is and form a V patern up from there, its somewhere in that patern, get on the roof and look, beter yet, look in the attic and narrow the search.

i suggest going into the attic when it is leaking, sometimes it can follow the beams down and leak 5 even 10 ft away from where the initial leak is coming from

the problem is it can enter here & show up there
go in attic in a heavy rain & poke hole where it tis comming through the ceiling so you don't get more damage...


you may find that if you have one leak, you may have more that have not made it to the living space

this a job for chimney inpector!
then have him take a pick up there. see if he sees anything then check if is the fct that you roof need new shingles!
have one comin in 1st thing tomorrow!
