Can someone give me a method of distilling water by freezing? I am doing an experiment where I compare methods of desalinating water and this is one theory I am testing. Can someone please help?

freeze the mixture just below the depressed freezing point. Do not agitate. As the mixture freezes, the salt becomes concentrated in the unfrozen part automatically stopping the freezing process and trapping it there. Simply remove the ice and remelt

You cannot distill water by freezing. If it has something else in solution, the mixture will freeze as a unit, and not separate. If there are bacteria in the water, freezing doesn't kill them. (It might if you approached Absolute 0)
