I just started emailing back and forth with a local modeling agency. I told her I'm 18 and 5' 8". She just responded saying I'm too short to model.
Is she serious? Is there any chance for me to model? I don't want to act either, so don't suggest that.

Yes, you are too short for runway modeling. Runway models have to be tall to show off the clothes to the best advantage. Sorry.
But you are not too short for print modeling. Print modeling is just about every other kind of models. They are the people in ads, they are the people in commercials, they are the people on TV, they are the people in magazines. Find an agency that deals with commercial models, and they will be more than happy to use you.

This depends on what kind of modeling you are looking into doing. For run-way modeling, you may be a little too short, but for modeling in photographs, you can negotiate with the agency. Good luck!

yea 5'8 is too short to be a runway model. if you can find somewhere that will just photograph you, maybe from the waist up, that wont show that you are on the shorter side may work. if you really want to be a model just go to casting calls and try your best. you may get shot down but if you really think you have 'the look' it may be worth it.

the general minimum for height in modelling is 5'8, maximum, around 6'5.
