If you got the cash, then the video ipod mos def. I like a lot of songs so its good for that. And the videos and games are cool too, the only downside is if you buy the cheaper one (like I did) the battery significantly goes down when you watch videos, but its still a tight Ipod.

It depends on your preference.
If you want an iPod with video playback, but do not care about battery life, size, and scratches, your choice would be the video iPod. (30/80GB, Black/White)
If you just want an iPod with a slim compact size, which is great for workouts, and scratch-proof, but do not care about the absence of video or its minuscule screen size, an iPod nano would be just fine. (2/4/8GB, Silver/Green/Blue/Pink/Red/Black)
If you would like an iPod to just play music, and be an ultra-light fashion accessory, but do not care about the absence of a screen, or photo or video features, or a greater chance of losing it, it would be the iPod shuffle. (1GB, Silver/Green/Blue/Pink/Orange)
(However, if you are frustrated by the click wheel that cannot "speed-scroll", the absence of FM Radio or voice recording, the absence of WMA support, the knowledge that the screen covers only 20-45% of the screen, has only 56k colours, the inability to delete music tracks, the FairPlay DRM, the fact that it cannot glows, and that some video iPods were released with a Windows virus, a Creative MP3 player is great for you. All modern players have all those things that the iPod doesn't have (excluding any viruses). The Vision W is widescreen like a PSP, and the battery can be removed, and the Zen Vision:M has a touch pad you can't resist.)

depends on how much you are willing to pay. i started off with the mini when it first came out and i now have the 30 gb video which i love! i have at least 50 tv shows on there plus 700 songs and i have not reached the half way mark. i would not get the nano they are so tiny and if you put it in your back pocket and bend down/sit it is GONE and most stores will not take em back. i worked at an electronics store and saw this often also the black shows scratches easily . hope this help.
