Are there issues you might be avoiding? Are there things in your life that you may need to confront,, but are not quite ready to?
I find that when I begin to day dream excessively it is because there are issues I am afraid of confronting, or that I am outright avoiding.......it is almost a type of defense mechanism that kicks in when I am overwhelmed, my minds way of protecting itself from overload!!! If that makes any sense??

Look- i have the same issue. I'm not going to call it a problem, because it's not, atleast not for me. Now, with me, it's not 24-7, but it is still alot. Don't worry about it. Because, if you are worried your going crazy, then your being smart, and if you're being smart about your problem, then your not going crazy. But, what i'm saying is do not worry about this. i do this sometimes, but it's all good. It's mainly because when you're actually around people you forget things and sometimes feel a bit shy. It may be a little more amusing to imagine talking to people. It will pass. This usually occurs in shy people(i am rather shy). Don't worry, God is with you, and you seem smart enough to be a great, and normal, all-around person. Hope this helps, my friend.

Talk to your doctor. Perhaps a therapist or neurologist or clergy too. I'm betting there's a medical reason.
I daydreamed all the time as a child, and still do often as an adult, controlling it with difficulty [got me fired from my first job]. I have Adult ADD, have always had adhd, though I did not know it. If this just devleoped, then I would guess your subconcious is doing it on purpose, and you need to find out why.
Blessings.

try taking a b-complex vitamin. you could be low in these vitamins. they help you deal with stress and give you better ability to concentrate. b-vitamins are hard to sustain in the body- it's water soluble, every time you go to the bathroom you lose some, so you need to "up" your stores if you have been through a change in your life and/or a stressful situation. when these vitamins get depleted, your brain can't seem to "focus"....... iron will help alot with concentration too, but starting a regiment of iron can constipate some people and might upset the stomach. b vitamins can be taken in pill form or a liquid dropped right on your tongue ( the liquid is the easiest way to get into your system)

You are incessantly in love with yourself being in love with the fact that you are acknowledged by your friends. You crave the attention to the point that even if you have to fantasize about them being around it is worth it just for the rush. The real issue is that you haven't developed your own sense of being, your own true self, basically your own identity. If you continue to wrap yourself around your friends you will one day find that they have all moved on with their lives leaving you in a quandary about how you spent so much time concerning yourself with your friends and not focusing on your own life. There is only one person in the center of your world and that is you. Everyone else is outside the circle. If you don't find your center then you will live a life that is always fragmented. You will wander aimlessly about the world wondering why it's not going right for you. Discover yourself because there is a wonderful person there!

if this is very extreme, talk to a doctor, you may have a disease that is deteriorating your mental health. that doesn't mean your crazy, it just means that this is one of your weaknesses. If this is not as extreme as it sounds when you put it that way, maybe you just need a project or something to focus your energy on. Put 100% into everything you do, and you'll probably find it easer to keep from daydreaming.
