Let's face it.

Clinton came close to being impeached for getting a little action on the side. Bush has ruined a country, sent 3000+ soldiers to their death and has spent a lot of money doing it.

So why hasn't an impeachment process been pursued?

It's really simple - impeachment proceedings are not initiated by poles or popularity. The president has not committed any impeachable offenses - at least none that have any valid or verifiable proof.
And that's a fact - since I'm sure the democrats would like nothing better than to impeach Bush, and they haven't.

It was taken off the table by Polosi!

While I believe there would be enough votes for a trial on impeachment charges, I do no believe they have the necessary 2/3 vote in the House to impeach him, just like they didn't Clinton. In fact, no president has ever been impeached!

That does not preclude Bush from being tried for War Crimes which he most certainly will be! They are just waiting until he leaves office!

Maybe that is why he bought 100,000 acre's in South America! What I want to know is why are US Troops guarding his private land in another country?

And I call violating the Constitution and unilaterally attacking a nation for no reason impeachable offenses! Lying about the reasons to the American people is an impeachable offense!

I would also say that Bush's secret CIA torture camps located in places like Poland is a high crime and misdemeanor! You know, the ones he denied then had to admit they were there, which is contrary to International Law, the Geneva Conventions which as a treaty is part of the Constitution!

Clinton was impeached on 21 Federal indictments (by a long-time Democrat and prosecutor from Chicago). Impeachment hasn't been pursued on President Bush because he did nothing that is impeachable, ie, all of his actions had legal precedent.

Because defending This country is the presidents job not an impeachable offense. Get your facts straight. Bill Clinton was not impeached for what he did with Monica. He was impeached for lying under oath. Your only gripe Is that George Bush is republican and not A Democrat. You would think he was the greatest person ever born if he was not republican. You should spend more time worrying about the people that want to kill us than which party is in the White house

Because almost everyone backed Bush at the outset of the war- & they'd be labeled "hypocrites" -& deserve it. Impeachment is a VERY time consuming process, and Bush will be history soon anyway, so there's not much point. If Iraq continues to crumble the way its going- Bush isn't going to WANT to be rememberd by the time he leaves Office... His "legacy" will be that of Incompetence.

Clinton was not impeached for the Lewinski affair--he was impeached for lying to Congress.

Bush has not committed a "crime or misdemeanor."

It's fairly hard to impeach a president, as the founders intended. They didn't want the country run by someone who could be thrown in prison or even out of office for falling out of favor with the people.

Actually, both Andrew Johnson (1865-1869) & Bill Clinton (1993-2001) were impeached but were subsequently acquited by the senate. Bush's lies are worse, but he hasn't yet been questioned by a court of law, therefore he hasn't yet commited perjury.

It needs to be. Concidering that after the 9/11 attacks people were rounded up and locked up without any charges against them violating their Constitutional rights. It was all done under the Patriot Act.
