Try "VICKS" vapor rub! It really works! Put it on thick at night and sleep with it. It'll sooth your lips and gets them back to normal! At first it might sting if your lips are very dry. If you don't like the smell try good ole "Vaseline" but the "Vicks" works better! Good luck!

*DO NOT* use Vaseline like everyone is telling you. It will only bring all of the moisture you do have left in your lips to the surface while creating a barrier that won't let any moisture IN your lips, so once it's on, all it's doing is sitting ontop of your lips, not penetrating like a lip treatment should.

So here's what you do. First go to your local Sephora store. Pick up "lipscriptions" by Benefit. Use the exfoliating beads with a dry clean toothbrush, by massaging your lips with the brush and exfoliator, your loosening and removing all the dead skin cells and chapped dead skin, then apply the silky lip balm at night as a treatment. Now you can also use a product that is available at Sephora as well, it's call "Rosebud Salve" it's truly a miracle worker. The original formula was used to help heal the damaged skin of burn victims. It's a soft lip balm that heals instantly, try it on lips, paper cuts, detergent burns, blemishes, dry and rough hands, feet and cuticles. Good luck!

Try Cortibalm for a week and i'm telling you, you'll never want to use anything else.

It has no added fragrances like Burts Bees and the best part is, it truly works.

You can get a free sample from the website by sending a self addressed stamped envelope and if you like it, buy it from Ebay. I bought mine from there and it only came out to less than 5 dollars for one since shipping was only $1.

go read the comparisons on the website and give it a try.

You need to exfoliate your lips like you would your face, remember it's all skin so you have to get the dead stuff off. There are many products out there, I use Mary Kay Satin Lips, but I'm sure there are other brands. I follow this up with a lip balm to make them smooth and kissable. Good Luck!

Find a great chapstick. Some buisinesses hand out some great custom label stuff. Apply constantly for about 2 weeks. Wear some smooth, not harsh lipstick once a day.

(I mean it. Keep it in your pocket or on a string around your neck to remember it.)

If a lip balm doesn't work, I suggest seeing a doctor. The problem could be more than cosmetic.

I've used Avon lip conditioner for several years now with great success. No matter what you use, you need to be consistant to get results. I use the lip conditioner twice a day, morning and at bedtime.

Hot and spicy foods can cause chapping of lips in some people. This could be due to inflammation. Capsaicin in hot peppers is well known to cause inflammation. Some people can feel the tingling and burning of the alkaloid on their lips that may result in mild swelling which eventually dries up and chapps. Pycnogenol, the antioxidant from pine bark extract, helps prevent the chapping and drying of the lips that can result from eating hot and spicy foods.

Steps
Take one caplet (60mg) of Pycnogenol per day for 10 days.

Thereafter, take one caplet every 3 days until you finish the whole bottle.

If you love eating hot food you will need to have Pycnogenol at hand because your symptoms will not go away for good

People who do not eat hot foods and still get dry and chapped lips should try Pycnogenol. This antioxidant has other health benefits as well.

Tips
Add grape seed oil, in addition to your cooking oil, when you prepare hot foods. Grape seed oil is known to contain pycnogenol. For some yet to be known reason grape seed oil makes hot foods, especially those that contain capsaicin, kind of mild.

Carmex and Chapstick work good. Also Vasaline overnight. Dont pick at your dried lips! It makes them worse. If you feel like picking put some chapstick on right away!
