It's a gas at room temperature
It is non flammible. In fact, many fire extinguishers are based on its generation to quench a fire.
It is not poisonous in low quantities, but in higher quantities, it can lead to suffication.
It is relatively highty soluble in water, since it can be hydrated to "carbonic acid" CO-(OH)2.
At atmospheric pressure, the solid form of CO2 sublimates directly to vapor. The solid (dry ice) is used in keeping shipped perishable items cold and in stage settings to simulate fog and mist.

its more imp property is that it can exist in supercritical state at ambient temp and pressure.this prop is utilised in super critical fluid chromatography.it can be freezed and solidified and used as dry ice.it goes into gaseous form after solidifying.and doent liquify.
