Is he trying to force the Democrats to cut funding for the Iraq war so that they will be blamed for leaving and thus be blamed for the loss?

Names not sparkey, but if my name was Corey I guess I'd try to give people cute little nicknames too.

I think that is very likely. I hear over and over that the *only* recourse the Democrats have to stop this thing is to "cut funding," and yet if Democrats speak of cutting funding, they're accused of hating our troops. I'd love to hear about other options.

It may be that Bush is just covering his rear-end and trying to place the Democrats between him and the War at this point, but many of us fear that he actually has a goal in mind that of course is unstated. For a long time we thought the secret goal was directly connected to oil which it may be still, in the long range, but that has been so unsuccessful in the short run that the goal may have changed to provoking Iran into a War.
I suggest we all watch carefully for the old Gulf of Tongan trick.
This trick will seem like an attack on American forces. Nothing will seem quite right about this trick however, like in the Gulf of Tongan, it was the fog and that made the exact identification impossible according to the Navy and President Johnson.
Watch out folks, because the set up may be coming and may already be in place and in the works.
The second thing to watch for is Israel's actions and reactions. After the recent Lebanon action and the cooperation with the Bush White House, there is little doubt that the Israel would love to level the Nuclear Facilities in Iran and count on the United States for support on the International Level..

Chelle ---

All current and future blood is on the hands of Bush and those who supported his illegal, immoral, unnecessary, and stupid doomed-to-failure invasion of Iraq.

You are right that there will be another terrorist attack against the US, and it will be so big that it will make everyone forget about 9/11.
It will be so bad that millions, and possibly 10s of millions of Americans will die – and it will all be Bush’s (and his supporters) fault.

The only way to prevent such an attack is by having accurate and timely intelligence information (information that other countries will know about first). Because Bush has alienated almost the entire world against us, we can no longer rely on the cooperation of other nations as we always have been able to. And remember, another country does not actually have TO DO anything. They only need to be casual or lazy in forwarding critical intelligence information – and America is a sitting duck.

It would be impossible to have devised a plan for the total and complete destruction of America that could have been as effective as what the Bush administration has accomplished. In six short years, we went from being the most powerful, respected, and admired nation on earth (that was the America Clinton passed on to Bush), to the most hated, mistrusted, and powerless this nation has ever been. It took Bush almost no time to undo almost 250 years of America’s great and honorable history – That will be the America Bush passes on to his successor, and it will be how history records his administration.

And, I guess that does not bother you, huh? I hope, for your sake, that you do not believe in God, because I don’t think he likes people who support the murder of millions of innocent people. In fact, I don’t think he wants those people in heaven.

Back to the question ---

It is too late for him to pull that trick Even if most people did not realize that the invasion was doomed to failure from the start, they are now hip to his insanity and incompetence, and realize that the situation in Iraq is hopelessly beyond our control and a complete and total failure. The responsibly falls entirely on Dubya.

Bush is pulling a hitler - doing exactly what he wants to do to the detriment of the USA.

He is intent on expanding the war and he will continue until he plunges this country and the rest of the world into the largest war man has ever seen.

BUSH advised by NEOCON counselors ( Jewish lobby) to STOP the American wish to cut off the WAR funding.
This very same Jewish lobby sees it necessary to sacrifice as much it may take to keep IRAQ torn in turmoils.
An Israeli poster admitted that our causalities are still light and that we should stop the IRAQ war because US death toll going up.. he compared other major world wars and have no problem 4000 US dead..
I asked him If this WAR is to secure ISRAEL from WMD, why is it no JEW ever died fighting along our soldiers in IRAQ?.. he denied answering!

the only thing that bush is going to do is get himself a nice fat package of subpeonas.

americans want this war in iraq over and the troops redeployed to places where they will actually fight the war on terror and get payback for 9/11.

if bush won't do that, he will be removed and someone else will do it instead.

bush can be investigated and it's high time it happened...

Trying to force their hand but not cut funding. He wants them on record approving the funding.

It's a tempting idea, but no. Bush actually wants to defeat our enemy. The Democrats do not.
