I would say yes, it can rain at 55F. At 30somethingF it would become snow or sleet or freezing rain or hail (something other than rain anyway).

Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit so as long as the temperature is more than 32 it can rain.

Sometimes the temperature in the clouds is warmer or colder than it is on the ground (usually colder). It can fall as snow from the clouds and melt into rain on the way down, or the other way round.

There are times when it's below freezing on the ground but because it's warmer in the clouds it rains. When the rain lands it quickly freezes and everything is covered with ice. Canada has some serious ice storms which can cause chaos.

Other times it can snow, sleet or hail when it's quite warm. A couple of years ago in England several inches of sleet fell in the middle of summer. It melted quickly but whilst it lasted cars were stuck and people were throwing snowballs.

Precipitation is the general term used to describe all forms of water falling to earth - drizzle, rain, snow, sleet, hail etc.

nicely, i'm dwelling in Limerick it somewhat is in the west of eire. climate right here might desire to be extra or much less the comparable. do no longer bypass to eire no longer looking forward to rain. Rain is surely predicted in July or August. The temperature can upward thrust to approximately 27 ranges Celcius during the summer season months, in spite of if it always in basic terms occurs for a pair of days right here and there. the familiar temperature may well be approximately 15 ranges for summer season. In winter, temperature can drop to approximately -sixteen min and eight on the max. Snow isn't so uncommon anymore. assume rain every time of year.

Of course it can shower. It's only -2 degrees here, and there are a few snowflakes.
