I'm looking for a best guess of how far the cloud of dust etc. traveled - streets, actual distance, anything that can quantify the debris cloud.

According to the web site 911researchwtc.com,it wasn't one dust cloud, but 2 gigantic ones which resembled the pyroclastic flows of volcanoes, since both towers collapsed after both airliners crashed into them, with the North Tower collapsing first.

Both dust clouds traveled several blocks and engulfed that part of Manhattan. According to the U.S. Geological Survey Volcanic Hazards program, pyroclastic flows are high-density mixtures of hot,dry rock fragments and hot gases that move away from the vent that erupted them at high speeds.

It did so because the outer skin of the world trade center was made of steed which was the main support of the building, that's what gave it it's strange appearance, as the jet fuel burned it heated the outer skin to the point of loosing it's tensile strength and it bowed out away from the floor adjoining it and the floor fell to the next level down causing a chain reaction all the way to the ground. Watch the video of it collapsing with this in mind and you will see that this is just what happened. The steel did not melt or burn it just got soft from being heated. dr.

It must have been larger than anything that could be measured. There was so much dust that people in the nearby streets couldn't see anything. On 9/12 I could still see a column of dust or smoke rising, when I was out in Long Beach, NY (near Long Island. The smoke and dust kept rising for days afterward.
