Hi. Go to "Start> Control panel> System> Hardware> Device manager> Sound and game controllers>" Select your soundcard and then select "Uninstall". Reboot and your computer should detect and install the drivers. Good luck.

Assuming you had had XP on there before the people above are correct it is simply a matter of reinstalling your drivers. Realtek is one of the most common onboard drivers required but make sure the driver type matches the type of system you have. If you had not had windows xp on before ie you had windows 98. You need to find an XP compatible driver.

did you reinstall the drivers for your motherboard.. commonly drivers for your multimedia audio devices is in the CD for your mother board in order for ur sounds to work. try to look at the device manager. if u see an exclamation point in your multimedia device, it means, drivers for sound is not installed.

sometimes its just the stupidest things.
it happened to me a couple times.
turns out after a half hour of lookin real deep into you find out you accidently hit the mute button on the keyboard, or the wires arent all the way plugged in.

go into your sound preferences.. mess with the volume, check to make sure your all setup and what not.
