It is very funny you write this question, as I have the same color eyes as you, how strange isnt it? Mine even kind of even change color with lighting...its mainly different angles to light exposure but still. Oh, but I have one eye lighter than the other one and sometimes on pics it shows.
So, for your question, going with green is always good. You are enhancing your original color. I use green eyeliner (for the day only upper lid) with a shimmering paler green eyeshadow. (Sage Pencil Perfect from L'Oreal and Green Buzz, Le Stylo waterproof from Lancome)
If you want to show contrast, use purple (violet). A nice dark purple eyeliner (or black for evening) with a matching eyeshadow, or whitish eyeshadow with nacre in the corner of the eye and expanding high on the eye arch and then a darker blue or purple for the outside is nice as well. (eyeshadow Lancome Color Dose Bright Plum, quite resistant to creasing as well)
I've tried pink and light violet (I have medium-light skin tone), but it can be hard to handle wihtout looking like you're tired.
Tried bright blue as well but was too overpowering (eyes didnt seem to be the center anymore).

Lucky you!! You sound very pretty!. But anyhoo, GOld eyeshadow will bring out the gold specks in your eyes. And also Browns will make them stand out against the dark shadow. Another choise is a bright pink, almost like a reddish color, that makes green eyes look beautiful! =) Well good luck!

It's normal for us to tend to use eyeshadow of the same co;our as our eyes but recently I caught this show about this 2 make-up guru on TV and surprise...they say that it's actually better to dab on the opposite colour to bring out the colour of your eyes.Sorry I can't remember what show was that.
For eg. Blue eyes would be better with a brownish, taupe shade
and Brown eyes with blue, green, lilac and Green with a bronzy brown or a deeper shade of violet.
They even did a make over for a lady with Green eyes and she always uses teal or green eyeshadow and makes her eyes look flat & boring. They did a violet on her and she looked stunning!Just make sure you blend the colour well. And when you have more colour on your eyes, try lighter shade or nudy shades for your lips.
Good luck!!

i kinda have the same thing going on with my eyes and i also have dark hair. i use a dark green shadow with a light green on my brow line, and a plum liner and plum shadow on my lash line. and i also use a dark brown almost black mascara. it really makes your eyes pop and makes the green show better. it makes them more gorgeous then ever. dont go over board though!
remember, less is more!

Do you want to highlight your eye color, against your hair and your skin tone? Or did you want to emphasize your eye color using contrasting eye-shadow? The color you use depends on the effect you want to create against your face.
In fact, eye shadow isn't the only item that can be used. Mascara and eyeliner affects the final effect too. You might want to be a little more specific when it comes to the effect you're looking for.

Same eye color here.
Subtle bronze tones, pale tans and such are natural and gougous.
I LOVE clinique's "teddy bear" or "sunrise" eyeshadow
my skin is pale, but my eyes stand out with this

A gorgeous metallic color, subtly applied so you don't look like a Goldfinger girl, and loads of sexy mascara from Stila. You'll look fantastic.

GOLD! or GREEN! it would give a sheer, full look.
If you REALLY want your eyes to pop then use.........
red (i wouldn't exactly like it)
or a metallic or non metallic purple/fuchsia
