I'm looking for a ballpark figure of what an architect might charge in the Orlando area for an addition. The existing house is a single story, about 2200 square feet, and we want to add the same amount of square feet to add a second story. Do they charge per square foot? I'm just trying to figure out about how much I'd need to get started.

Speaking from experience go to your local college and find a student of drafting and design. I was ripped off by an architect. The plan checker at city hall permit center said I paid about double of what it should have cost. Do your homework. Find a college that has a good drafting program. Go to the city or county and find out what their requirements are. Then go to the college and post on the student employment area and I guarantee you will find a com pendent student to undertake your task.

counting on the place in Orlando your mothers and fathers are transferring too, it somewhat is approximately 115miles it somewhat is approximately 1hr and 45min on a stable day as quickly as back counting on the place they're transferring too and site visitors. i'm no longer attempting to be impolite by employing asserting this, so I make an apology if it comes out incorrect yet UF is an somewhat difficult college to get into with the guy faculties being much extra durable. it is likewise extremely high priced and that's coming from a FL resident. stable success!

Its usually around 10 to 20% of the projected construction cost. If it cost $100,000 to build, the architect would charge 10-20k. The price of the cost to build is directly associated with sq. footage. I'd figure around $100/sq. ft.
