Almost undoubtedly , Brazil; though Colombia is the other South American candidate; everybody is talking about Brazil 2014 almost since 1986. Now that FIFA is rotating the World Cup organizers not just between America, sorry, the Americas, and Europe is certain that the organizing country will be in South America, and Brazil is by far the strongest candidate, probably Australia will host the World Cup in 2018. You must remember that it was in 1978 that the Cup was staged in South America for the last time. And when we reach 2014 it will have passed fully 36 years since Argentina 1978.
See you in South Africa 2010. (and rumor has it the 2030 World Cup will be in Uruguay, to celebrate the 100 years of the tournament)

FIFA have confirmed that the 2014 world cup will be held in South America.

Brazil is the only candidate on FIFAs list as they have enough stadia and infrastucture whereas the other countries rely heavily on 1 or 2 cities

If indeed the bid fails due to civil unrest in the country then the world cup will automatically be handed to North America either USA or Mexico

Brazil & Columbia are planning to bid for the 2014 tournament. The tournament will definitely be held in S America under the rotation system implemented by FIFA starting in S Africa in 2010, however, this rotation policy may be scrapped after 2014.

well it's south america, and i'm pretty sure the whole rotation system stops there (thank god). brazil will probably get it.

and to the guy who said australia would be good....most of europe would be watching in the early hours of the morning....australia doesn't have the resources....it would be one of the worst world cups ever

hmm well if not Brazil I have think Colombia is launching a bid but I can't see them having a very good chance due to all the violence in the country.

I think that South America is do for one. The last one was held in Europe the one before that Asia before that France before that USA. So South America is most likely next.
