That does sound a bit concerning, you should be feeling movement still. Drink a glass of juice (something sugary and lay down) If you do not feel any movement over the next 10 minutes call the labour ward at your hospital and ask them what to do. You really should go in as soon as possible to the hospital to make sure that everything is OK - that is what they are there for. Good luck and congrats!

My wife just had a baby one month ago. The doctor told us that my wife should feel the baby move at least 4 times every hour. He stressed this point on more than one occasion. 12 to 14 hours is much too long to not feel your baby move. It is very important that you contact your doctor ASAP! If he is not available, get to the emergency room, or at least call the hospital and ask to speak with an OB nurse. I don't want to alarm you, but you should act soon.

I am also at 38 weeks. Last week, I panicked because I hadn't felt the baby move in a while. I rushed to the doctor's office (without an appointment) and they gave me a non-stress test - it measures movements, contractions and heartbeat. The test confirmed that the baby was fine.
However, my sincere advice is to call your doctor and get his/her opinion. Lack of movement at this stage can be a sign of fetal distress. He/she might send you to the hospital for a non-stress test, just to be safe.

well thats a long time to not feel baby especially this far. drink a big glass of ice water and sit quietly on your left side and count those kicks. when i was 37 weeks and started not being able to feel baby any more they did a er c section, he was very floppy and needed to be in the nicu for several days. so notify your dr right away if you arent feeling baby soon.

I DON'T WANNA SAY THAT IT'S NORMAL FOR YOUR BABY NOT TO MOVE. BUT I DO KNOW THIS, AT THIS POINT IN YOUR GESTATION YOUR BABY IS GOING THROUGH SO MUCH. IT'S BODY IS GETTING READY TO MOVE THROUGH THE BIRTH CANAL. THE LUNGS ARE GOING TO BREATHE AIR FOR THE FIRST TIME. SO MUCH IS HAPPENING AND BABIES SLEEP ALOT. IT IS EXHAUSTING ON BOTH YOU AND BABY. NOW IF BABY DON'T MOVE IN WITH IN A DAY THEN I WOULD SEEK A DOCS HELP ON THAT.
AS FOR THEM BRAXTON HICKS......THOSE CAN BE NORMAL BUT IF THEY PERSIST FOR HOURS THEN YOU MIGHT JUST BE IN THE BEGINNING STAGES OF LABOR. IF YOU HAVE DROPPED YOUR MUCUS PLUG THEN YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY TO LABOR. WHAT I DID AT THIS TIME WAS LAY DOWN IN A VERY CALM SETTING LISTEN TO RELAXING MUSIC OR READ. A GOOD BACK RUB OR A FOOT RUB WOULD NOT BE BAD EITHER. JUST REMEMBER THAT LABOR IS VERY TOUGH ON OUR BODIES. SO TAKE IT EASY RELAX AND JUST ENJOY THE YOUR TIME OF PREGNANCY. GOOD LUCK, HUN!

You need to report this to your doctor. Not feeling the baby move could be a sign of fetal distress. They will need to give you a non-stress test to make sure the baby is okay. Don't delay, get to the hospital.

CALL YOUR DR NOW!!!! Or go to the ER if your dr doesn't have night hours. The baby is probably ok, but this sounds like too long of a period without movement to me... you don't want to take any chances at this point.

You need to call your doctor ASAP. Although fetal movment decreases the last few weeks, you should still be able to feel the baby move throughout the day.
