Peyton deserved this more than anyone b.c he didn't win it for the ring, the car, the money, or the MVP

he won it for cooper, his dad, and his other family

it was coopers dream to win a Superbowl b.c of injuries he had to stop playing and said he would live that dream through Peyton.

and Peyton was not going to lose that for his brother

and for people saying it was boring yeah the commercials were but the game was great

you either didnt like it b.c your team wasnt in it or they lost

Wow, sounds like a lot of anger out there. Manning got the MVP because he is the MVP. Yes the RBs did well, but did they call the plays? NO. The QB called the plays. He is the MVP and does carry the Colts and that is great. As far as winning for his family, that is great too. I am a huge Manning fan and a huge Colts fan and I still live in Baltimore. See you all in the SB next year.

I agree with you. Of anyone on the colts team Peyton was the only one that really had any stand out numbers. i can't really think of any Other player of the Colts that deserve to be MVP. Maybe Grossman should have been MVP for giving the Colts such great Field position, and even 7 points.

people say that he shouldn't have gotten the MVP because he wasn't "flashy" enough. but he did what was needed to win the game.

the only problem with your definition is the Definition of the Superbowl MVP is the best statistics in the superbowl. (this is pretty much the standard since superbowl 5)
not why he plays the game. i would love to try to change this definition but its been the standard for a long time

but what you said about a running back and a Receiver is nothing without a great QB is only partially right. look at L.T and his crappy QB (Rivers), or Barry Sanders and his horrible QB, Walter Payton was great, and Jim McMahon was really overrated . but the opposite is true and in the colts case the QB does make the RB great too.

(oh, and my team is the niners so i don't have anything against any teams in this superbowl)

Peyton did not deserve the mvp because he wasn't the most valuable player to the colts win, that honor goes to the running back duo of addai and rhodes for eating up significant portions of the clock and gaining huge yards per rush. If peyton was so motivated by his brother, then why not in years past, his brother still wasn't a pro player when peyton lost the afc championship twice, so he has lost for his brother before, if thats the logic you're going with. And the game wasn't very good, the colts won by 12 points and it wasn't even that close, if not for three colts turnovers, a missed extra point and a missed field goal it could easily have been a 20-30 point game. It's not that it was bad because our teams weren't in it or lost it, it's that you felt it was good because your team was in and won it

listen, your team won the super bowl, thats a great thing, mine has won it three times since 2001, and to be honest i don't think brady should have been mvp of 36, vinateri won the game. brady got it in sb38 because he led the team downfield when they were behind and came through in the clutch. so by that reasoning i expect something spectacular out of an MVP and even though it's his job to hand balls off on a running play it doesn't make him valuable, Sorgi could have handed the ball off the same way. All i'm doing is answering your question with an honest opinion, which is what you asked for, if you don't want to hear why Peyton sholdn't have been mvp, then don't ask why people think he shouldn't be mvp

I'm a fan of Peyton Manning, but the running backs on the Colts played so much better than anyone. Dominic Rhodes was pounding through the Bears defense with 21 touches for 113 yards and Joseph Addai had 10 receptions for 66 yards and 19 touches for 77 yards. In my opinion, Manning only recieved the MVP award because he is the poster child for the Colts.

Breed did identically what he did very last year, yet he had some more effective protection which failed to value him video games. tremendous year for Brees, yet no longer outstanding. I merely imagine human beings were taken aback even as Gonzalez went down week one and Marvin Harrison left, Peyton couldn't get it finished with Garcon and Collie. Drafting Donald Brown change into huge to get our operating sport decrease back, yet it ranked very last contained in the NFL. yet an extra reason Brees change into knocked down a notch for the reason that they have a firstclass operating sport. Throw in a list putting 7 4th quarter comebacks this season and ending with the acceptable NFL list this year, Peyton truly deserved it. If the Saints had beaten the Cowboys or Bucs or both, issues truthfully would were diverse. i don't have had an issue with Co-Mvps yet Peyton did somewhat extra with a lot less this season, and that i imagine that is what it boiled all the way down to.

MVP has nothing to do with the reasons someone wanted to win it. It's the person who's performance changed the game. It was the running game of the Colts not Manning. He had a good game, but I think the only reason he got it was because of the reasons who said. Which isn't right. It should have went to one of the running backs, or the whole offensive line. That would have been cool.

I believe Manning deserves it even though he didn't have the greatest numbers. The main reason is the fact that he led the team like Brady would lead the Patriots. He fired the team up. He got them off their asses whenever something went wrong and corrected his mistakes or those of others. He did whatever it took. Stats are just numbers. They don't mean anything on how good a player is. Look at Grossman. He was 20 for 28 but everybody still thinks he did awful. Stats are just numbers once again.

As a Patriots fan it gags me to write this, but Manning did deserve the MVP or at least co-MVP with Sanders. Without Sanders, the Colt defense is #32 out of 32 on run defense.

They usually give it to a player on the winning team, but by all rights, Rex Grossman did more for the Colts that Peyton did. He's the real MVP.

Well, some people say peyton Manning did not deserve MVP because according to some people, he is pretty good, but he got the help from other temmates to win the MVP. Also, many people rooted for the Bears.
