Kidney stones are very rare in young people. Why are you worrying about something like that? Drink plenty of water, and read this:

Then get on with your life and quit worrying.

Kidney stones are rare in teens. Men are more at risk then women, probably because they don't drink enough water. Dehydration allows for the mineral build-up that causes the stones. So, drink up! Get those 8 glasses of water a day. Try to stay away from caffeinated and carbonated beverages, which tend to dehydrate you. Your other question: how will you know if you've got one? No one will have to tell you if you've got one. You will have an incredible amount of pain in your urinary tract when you try to pee.

kidney are made of calcium. some people that drink lots of milk can develop them. I am one in that group. I have passed 2 stones about 6 years apart. At fourteen you are probably to young for kidney stones. However some of the symptoms that i had were a ache in my back in the kidney region that started out as a minor ache that grew into the most intense pain that i ever experienced. I had to go to the emergency room and a urine sample confirmed that there was blood in my urine another sign of kidney stones. with the help of some pain medication i was able to pass the stones within a couple of days. i hope you never have any problems with kidney stones

there is no way to tell if your at risk.. drink plenty of water..about 48ozs. a day. Believe me you'll know if you have kidney stones.. You won't be able to stand the pain in your lower belly or your lower back. If your asking this of yourself then go to a doctor.

I wouldn't worry about getting one. You'll know it if you get one by the pain in your lower back. Let us know if you start to get scared of any other diseases.
