The location of weather systems such as high and low pressure areas, otherwise known as extra tropical cyclones and anti cyclones; such systems' positions are dictated by the position of the jet streams. The jet stream is what produces the wet season, because it brings storms with moisture; High pressure areas inhibit moisture and may result in dry conditions if persistent enough.
