Because of the order of operations, you need to multiply and divide before adding and subtracting. Therefore, first you must multiply 5/6th with 3/7ths, getting 15/42. Then, on the other side, you must multiply 7/3ths with 7/9ths, getting 49/27ths.

So, now we know the equation is

15/42 + 49/27.

In order to add the fractions, you must find a common denominator. In this case, 378 can be a common denominator for both 42 and 27.

Since 42 goes into 378 9 times, you multiply the first fraction by 9, getting 135/378. Since 27 goes into 378 14 times, you multiply the second fraction by 14, getting 686/378

Now the equation is

135/378 + 686/378

Now that you have a common denominator you can add the fractions numerator's together to get

821/378

Because 821 is a prime number, the fraction cannot be simplified further.

First cancel the 6 with the 3: (5/2)(1/7)

Now multiply each out

5/14 + 49/27

Now find the common denom. 14 times 27

Multiply top & bottom of first fraction by 27 and top & bottom of second by 14

Then add the tops, but keep the bottom whatever 14X27 is

(5*3)/(6*7)+(7*7)/(3*9)
15/42+49/27
(15/42)*(27/27)+(49/27)*(42/42)
(15*27)/(42*27)+(49*42)/(27*42)
(405)/(1134)+(2058)/(1134)
(405+2058)/(1134)
(2463)/(1134)
Reduce
