ads did sucked i must say, but i actually enjoyed this superbowl. usually superbowls are low scoring and nothing really goes on until the 3rd or 4th quarter. last years seahawks steelers superbowl sucked but this one was great. especially since i got to saw rex suck and cost his team the game and the colts won.

"...when the ads become the story, i cant be that far off."
You have a good point.
I agree with you. I'm just interested in the outcome and who will go into the NFL history books as the champ. As for the "TV event," it's all played out. The commercials have reached their limit. Nothing is shocking anymore. It's done.
Prince gave a good show, but... who cares? You reach a certain age and you can smell the promotion going on. Where's the album? When is the concert tour? What's coming next? Like the whole "watch the Grammys" pitch. I get it. Cross-over or tie-ups, or whatever the industry term is.
There's nothing new about any of this. We've reached the limit. That's why it seems so old already.

I'm bored with it too. I can't understand how it is the biggest event of the year. I hate how football fans are football fans first and team fans second. I can see people being excited about it when their team is involved, but I can't see how every fan can be excited about a series of commercials interrupted by a game, and thats what the Super Bowl has become.
And yes, Prince was painfully dull as well. I took a nap at halftime.

I thought the Super Bowl was OK this year, it was close until the INT return for a touchdown. There ahve beeen much worse games...all the ones involving the Denver Broncos in the 1980s, for example, or the Bear and Patriots in 85. In fact, the whole decade of the 80s was weak for the most part. Last night's game was competitive. I thought Prince was great also. Some years the game is good, sometimes it's terrible. There's no overall trend to speak of.

all the hype has nothing to do with the game itself, when it all comes down to it its still just a football game and every football game is not going to be high scoring and have a dramatic ending if its drama you want then you need to watch college football, where the guys play there hearts out and only the school and the coaches get paid for it. that sucks. I though prince was real good he had the whole stadium humming purple rain in the rain now that was out of sight. the game was a pretty good game overall

i agree. i don't really get in to pro football (or pro sports at all) that much. i got together with a big group of friends this year and didn't hardly watch the game at all. i especially didn't pay any attention to the prince halftime show. even the commercials have gotten painfully boring. its hard to believe that anyone would spend over 2 mil to put some of that trash on the tv.

I have to agree this year's Superbowl (ad's included) was horrible. I dislike the Bears but I don't exactly love the Colts either for knocking out my precious Ravens.

Ever since the "wardrobe malfunction" a few years back, the SB halftime show is safer than bingo night at church. And equally boring.
