1) Do you include overseas possessions?
2) Do you include islands near the continents, and in that case, how near?
BTW--French Polynesia is a stinkin' long way from Asia--it would be considered part of the Oceana cultures instead; however, France still has tiny St. Pierre & Miquelon off the coast of Newfoundland, North America, a much better third choice for France.
A few countries are on two continents without question: Spain, Russia, Turkey. Any of these with stray possessions, not counting claims in Antarctica, could also get this claim.
I personally wouldn't count overseas territories, though.

A continent is a land mass surrounded by water such as Africa and Australia so there can not be a country in 3 continents.
