find the small hose that comes off the side of the air cleaner. follow it down to a small black device, that is on one of the valve covers. that is the PCV Valve. Dude, pouring oil out of the top of your mill is not the Positive Crank case Valve's fault. it is bad valve cover gaskets, possable Intake manifold gaskets.
I agree that oil belcches out because the engine is not properly breathing . a mechanic would be a good second opinion

I have owned 2 Pontiac's 97 grand prix and 99 Montana I put 145,000 + miles on the grand prix which I most say I ran hard the only problems I had was with the alternator from letting it sit for months at a time. but I found that problems with Pontiac's are more electric than anything they both ran very well and very dependable as with the price I wouldn't buy a sunfire for that kind of money

what the pcv valve does is it draws gasses up from the crankcase to help it breathe and it burns the gasses over again before it goes out the tailpipe.it should be on the top of the valve cover.also change the hose and also see if the opening in the cover isnt stopped up.

i own a repair shop, and i think i know what might be happening to it,is the oil drains get stopped up from sludge, the oil builds up in the top of the engine, and it has no choice but to come out,the pcv valve wont cause it to leak like this, you need to pull the valve cover off of it and see whats restricting the oil from draining back,i don't have diagram of it on computer but you can get a good Haynes repair manual and it has a good one in it,but i think you may have blockage in it somewhere causing this to happen, good luck,i hope this help,s.

The pcv is directly, and the only thing on top of your valve cover.
If it helps your car is a Cavalier with different tags. It should help you find more sources for car repair...
