Do you believe that people can really get possessed by demons?

I never really believed that tale until I saw The Exorcism Of Emily Rose. And now, I think that maybe it is possible. Sometimes it is scary to think that something like that can happen to someone. I don't watch horror movies, and I just watched it for the first time lastnight. I don't know what to think. I believe in God, so therefore, I have to believe in the Devil too! I believe this can happen.

yes, i believe this is possible. dont let anyone tell you that you are being silly by believing in these types of things. when it comes to the afterlife we are all pretty much equally clueless. but i think you are being wise in keeping an open mind despite how scary that can be in cases like this. did you know that Princeton University has a program to study paranormal activity?

They research human machine anomolies which are things like humans influencing a random number generator. They research remote percetion which is where a person can sense something that is outside of what we normally think of ourselves as being able to sense. They research what reality is which could possibly be linked to people being possesed.

I heard a program on the history channel the other day which talked about haunted sites. The program scared me because it sounded very convincing. I started doing searched on the internet for "scientific ghost research" and i have to tell you i am now convinced that there are ghosts. there is definatly something going on that is beyond our understanding. What did the actual convincing for me was EVP's or Electronic Voice Phenomenon. This is when voices are caught on tape that are inaudible to the human ear. Now the question is this. Do you think the people that made these (and other) sites are trying to con you or do you think they are legitimately and scientificly trying to raise awareness about this. You will notice that both orginizations will conduct research in YOUR house for free if it is haunted.

okay, back to your original question. Yes, I think its possible.

My advice to you is maybe no better than anone elses but I would think to

-not let yourself be consumed by fear of the idea
-pray to God, whoever you believe God is, and ask for protection

I believe it CAN happen, but while The Exorcism of Emily Rose was based on a true story, it's a movie. Just a movie. Find some other sources on it, like books and stuff, or just look online. I remember when I was doing community service for my school in a local library, and they had a book on possessions and all that. It was really interesting. :]

What you didn't get from the movie is the Psychological profile of her parents. They poured that in her head. Vulnerable human beings are capable of being brainwashed into believing something they don't if its just put in their head enough. Evil from her was created from her parents and her past. She is a prime example of what some in society do with their children, hear it enough and you believe it to. You were watching tonight what brainwashing can do to someone, however, it was embellished in this film. SO YOU WOULD BE SCARED. That's why, people still rent it.

Amity-ville Horror was based on a true story as well... The Catholic Church has been performing exorcism's since the beginning of time. Usually young persons or those who decide to invite demons into their weak minds can succumb to being possessed. There are documented accounts all around the world. But don't be afraid keep your solid faith and strong will...And don't be opening any unwanted doors with Ouija boards or seances and you'll be just fine....Promise!

Don't believe in something that you don't really know. I know a little bit about it. I say a little, because the "other world" is just too big to know all of it. Like our world, there's too many peoples, animals and stories about it.

There's wandering spirits and demons (in your word) in our world. But not all of them are evil. It's just like human, there's good & kind peoples and there's bad peoples.

Sometimes they possesed human, mostly because they have unfinished business and they ask for our help. That's is the only way they know how...

Don't threat possesed people wrong way, like in Emily Rose. Some people die of possesed not because of the possesion itself, but because western peoples don't know how to handle with it. Learn more about it with the east asian spiritualist...

Trust me, "the other" world will not disturb you or even bother you, if you don't disturb tem or disturb their territory. But yes, sometimes they possesed human, only because they need some help from us... So don't you ever worry...

Some peoples are more greedy and evil than the wandering spirits and demons (in your word). So it's human that you should be careful with....especially terrorist...

Well I don't know about people getting possed by demons but I do believe that are ghosts because well I can feel them around. There are evil spritits and well I don't know abour spirits posseing anyone though. That is a really good question and I think that no one but the person who has been possed can actually tell us the truth.

I have no deffinate proof for you, but I have heard many testemonials from evangelists and preists who have met people who were supposedly posessed and have handled the blessing/exorcism, and have described terrifying sights of what demons actually look like when they make themselves visible on our plane as they leave a body.

Many of these men have spoken in my church, and I believe that it's quite possible to be posessed, just unlikely.

I have seen demons being cast out of people, but it is not likein the movies were it is a huge struggle, unless the person casting the demon out makes it so. You quietly cast it out and try to keep things under control, no need for the person who is possessed to be throwing up and completely turning their head around and turning green. Although the demon inside of them will tell you things about yourself you don't want to hear, you just ignore that and continue to cast the demon out.

Here in our country I've watched several footages of a person being possessed by demons or evil spirits. Most of the time, it was caused by interfering with their areas and weak/ depressed moods. In our own school, it also happened.
