I know of a person who protected his wife from getting raped in his own house and has to do five years on manslaughter :(, cause he didn't have the money for a good lawyer. However the global consensus is people like OJ,Jayson Williams and get away with murder whenever.
Is our country that money hungry, is money the best justice a man can get?

Neither. Our court system is not based on justice. And it is not based on money (although money can influence it). Our court system is based on interpreting and applying the laws of the land. When a court case has an unjust result it is normally because one side did a poor job (which may be money related) or because the law that was being enforced is an unjust law.

The Justice system has many flaws. People who can hire high powered attorney has better chance of getting off, even tho they are guilty, like ones you listed above. The lawyer is the one who gets the money. Some high powered lawyers do have friends in high powered places, like judges. I do not know where you live, but if the story is true on how things happened regarding the man protecting his wife, he should have never even been arrested, so that sort of makes me think that there may be some things you really do not know or was not told about what happened in that house. I do not see how having money or not would have anything to do with a person protecting his wife and in his own house. A person has the right to protect a third party. Something not right here with your story.

Justice.

Yes, having the money to buy a better lawyer and to buy all the extras like depositions, investigators, more depositions, and the like. Knowing the ins and outs of the legal system is paramount. People do get away with murder, its beyond a reasoanble doubt- OJ had that element of doubt in his favor. Money does help, but it is not the end-all.

Lawyers are good and bad, honest, dishonest, etc. Same with Judges, Cops, etc. Some will sell their integrity for money. Some will not!

I am glad you said court system , instead of justice system , as there is no justice system in America any more, contrary to our T,V, programs and news media, no one walks out of court unless you have some good political pull, and it don't make any difference if a man is guilty or not, unless he has a min$100.000 in his pocket and it is a felony he is going to jail,oh yes the court will appoint you a public defender( public pretender) who will do exactly what his employer (the state) wants him to do and that is get you convicted, our courts have a 98,8 %conviction ratio now,
many men plead guilty to the charges for a lighter sentence, because they know if they go to court they will get a much longer time in prison, even tho they are not guilty, my wife's uncle caught a man in bed with his wife and killed him , he served 22 years in prison , even tho the gun belonged to the man he shot,In America you get exactly the amount of justice you can afford to pay for,

Money has a powerful effect in the justice system. No denying it. We may have the most 'just' system around but it still is affected by human failings.

Regarding OJ - racism was also a factor. After the trial, I observed one black female juror saying, "We saw our Brother in pain and we knew we had to help." Because of racial identity, some felt they had to 'help' him.

Money definitely plays a major role. It's amazing what a good attorney can get the guilty out of.

When you get to the root of almost anything in this great country of ours, it ALL comes down to money! Especially matters of our government and the law. Money is power and money can buy happiness.

The more money you can place on the scales of justice the more they tip your way.
Someone once said to me "Life is a sh_t sandwich. The more bread you have the less sh_t you gotta eat".
It's like that everywhere, all cities, all states, all countries.
