China is a communist government, versus Japan which is a democratic society. With that said, do you think that the Japanese would have an easier transition to "American" life than would the Chinese?

Many Japanese had already adopted American culture with all the cars, technology and liberalism that they had nowadays unlike the Chinese who stuck to communism prompting them to concentrate on economy.

An American on a desert Island is still an American a Japanese on a desert Island is not Japanese anymore. For Japanese Identity is based on Amae (Sweet interdependence) where American identity is based on individualism

You should meditate on this while seeking your answer...

Personally I hope they never have to make such a transition. Their culture is way too valuable. Humanity would suffer a grave loss if the Japanese culture would disappear

well, there is no such thing as a communist government. it is impossible to make it to the second stage of the communist revolution (look it up if you don't know what i mean) because humans desire power. considering that being said, i would still maybe have to say japan. but i'm not really familiar with either culture or government system...

I know a lot more Chinese people in the U.S. (recent arrivals) than Japanese people. The Japanese culture seems more different than the Chinese culture. That said, I think members of either group would transition and fit in over here. I think it would be more difficult for most Americans (as individuals) to adapt to their cultures.

Democracy is unquestionably more effective contained in the destiny, notwithstanding the chinese society isn't waiting for a democracy. no longer many human beings understand that voters should be knowledgeable in the previous a democracy is determined up; in the different case, human beings will take income of the authorities. China, below the Nationalist authorities, change right into a lot extra democratic, and its authorities fell aside because the folk weren't knowledgeable. right this moment, China is slowly loosening up and already social ills are plaguing it. Iraq's democratic authorities is failing because of lack of guidance. In different words, we ought to continuously have waited some extra years to unencumber Iraq. they'd were below a cruel dictator, yet a minimum of they could stroll contained in the streets many of the time devoid of worry of dropping their lives.

Democracy? Democracy is not what the American way of life is about. Liberty is. Now Japan certainly has more liberty than China. China is still very much an iron curtain country.

I once had a tenant who immigrated after Tiannamen Square. She has had no trouble adapting to freedom, it didn't appear, and she was a lawyer who jetted around America. Interestingly, she laughed and laughed when she told her 5 year old daughter that I was so glad that my husband now had enough status at his job where he wouldn't have to make it to work when it was snowy and icy in the morning. She and her daughter marveled over anyone being such a slave to their job that they would risk their life in the ice and snow. So, she seemed to have greater clarity about liberty and freedom, at least in that area.
