Should i thrash him to within an inch of his life or set the hounds on him?

Neither, you really must be kind to your staff, they are not so easy to replace these days. I do suspect that he had the iron temperature setting too high, (I expect he was trying to hurry, because you were getting bad-tempered with him again) The iron should be set on `low`, or better still, set it on`medium` and place a thin cotton cloth between the newspaper and the iron, to do the job. That should keep you both satisfied!

I shouldnt set the hounds on him dear boy. Menial staff is so hard to come by these days. A sound thrashing with a general tongue lashing should do the trick. Cheerio whatoh
