I'm mexican. There is alot of tales like: La Llorona, Chaneques, Nahuales, El Perro *****, Brujas,The Day of the Dead
All these have to do with tall tales told by generation after generation. Some people say it was true others say it was to scare little kids to be good. Truth is nobody knows. Chaneques were these 3 little men, said to make you get lost. La Llorona was a women who drowned her kids because of her jealousy, now she cries for them everynight. Nahuales are like guardian angels, they try to protect you and warn you from danger. The Day of the Dead is a day to celebrate those who died and people go to cemeteries and clean the graves, place food and party with their spirit. All these are stories to scare little kids but to also knowledge them about their culture. Most of these have some things in common for instance:
-The moral is dont do nothing bad or the creature will get you.
-They become ghosts or supernatural because something tragic happened in their life.
-They are here to guide you in a good path.
- They are suppose to teach you a lesson in life.
-They leave mysteries to get you thinking.
- Stories telling you incidents about strange things happening to your ancestors
-Curses, Whichcraft, Hexes
-The Underworld
-Exposing the past
All of these are things said following the stories.

Hope it helps you out need anything else email me
