When the kidneys of a fish shut down (due to infection) the fishes body will fill with fluid this results in the body of the fish swelling.the problem with treatment is it is very difficult to diagnose early on in the infection and by the time you realize what is going on it is often too late.
have a water sample thoroughly tested as this is often the result of poor water conditions (or environmental factors such as low temps).as this has happened to you before this may be the case

With them all being male and some of them dying i would say it is bloat. I would go to your local pet store and pick up what is called Life Guard. It treats all different sicknesses in fish. Also I would suggest doing a 25% water change before the treatment.
