I think the greatest tragedy of US science is that it fails to properly inform the truth to the public. Evolution, cloning, genetically modified organisms; the public has huge misconceptions.

I'll put this into context. We already clone humans. Naturally. There are millions of them in the world. Identical twins are clones of each other. What is meant by a scientific clone is just someone with the same DNA; and DNA doesn't determine everything.

Now with that said, i don't believe that eugenically cloning humans is ethical. I think for our own satisfaction humans should be avoided as test subjects for any kind of genetic research such as cloning or altering our genetic code, unless it is for genetic disorders, such as cystic fibrosis.

Cloning wouldn't do anything, except for the obvious thing which pops up: eugenics. If we can easily clone humans (we already have the technology to do it), then the problem with selecting the individuals with the best genetic makeup is gigantic. Watch Gattaca, or read something like Brave New World. Eugenics is definitely something to be avoided

i don't think so. I mean even though it's an exact replica of someone they will NEVER turn out exactley the same. Everyone no matter what will have a different upbringing. The clone will not share the same soul, just the same genetic make up. In reality there is no point for cloning except for oregon transplants. Even then there are already enough people out there.
cloning should be banned not because it's unethical but because it's pointless. Like if you cloned hitler you can't say for sure that he would be a racist prick. If you brought him up in Berkeley he'd probably be an open minded individual

i do not see any reason it truly is going to be banned, if it enables the inhabitants as an finished, what's the challenge. Why no longer provide those with incurable ailments a probability at a healthy existence and if thats a thanks to do then so be it. so some distance because the guy above who suggested it ought to don't have any spirit "how did you already know that" you do not and also you ought to no longer merely anticipate it would not. human beings favor to get all non secular and issues yet you already know what God gave us the means to objective this, then why might want to we no longer take income of it. If a make sure would have their infant for merely one extra day because of a cloned human being's cells, do you imagine they could really say no to that? NO Come on human beings, imagine of someone besides yourselves.

Have you seen the movie "Children of Men" ??? It's a SCI-FI movie about the future, where all females become infertile, therefore a pending doom for the human race. It' is very doubtful, such event should occur, but lets suppose, it did one day become a reality. Then, human cloning may be the only resource to prevent the end of the human race.......

Yes, it should be banned. It is wrong to play God. Science has tried everything to prove God a myth so now they want to clone God's creations. Oh well, what next!

In my opinion human cloning should be banned because it is highly unethical and it can result into unfavorable consequences.

No.
There should be a moratorium on it 'til we have refined the technique so that we can produce perfect embryos almost every time.
Too many birth defects with today's techniques. Not good for people.
