Tiger eye is "A fibrous, golden brown quartz psudomorphous after crocodolite and showing chatoyancy, used as an ornamental stone" (Dictionary of Geology, Penguin 1996).
Its also a form of asbestos. You can buy it at any rock store or even at markets. Its very common and cheep. It usually comes as small tumbled polished stones.

A replacement process occurs when a hydrothermal stream, saturated with quartz washes through a layer of asbestos and replaces the asbestos with quartz. Several varieties exist, the prettiest is orange and black or blue and black. As far as wher to find it I imagine you can find it on ebay. I f you mean in matrix you would have to talk to a geologist or do a little research.
