Every car that I've ever filled with washer fluid (you know... it sprays out on the windshield...) there is a little sponge that floats in the reservoir. Whats the point in that??

Two of the cars that I've seen it on do not have "washer fluid low" indicator lights.

most times, that is a small float, that will trip a warning light on your dash, telling you that your washer fluid is low, and needs filling.

It indicates the level of the fluid.
