Don't care for it myself, but it's not the worst I've ever heard.

Well, I'm not sure if you're saying Iathan, with an i, or Lathan, but you typed it with a lower case L.

If you mean Lathan, then I would guess that you pronounce it Lay-than.

If you meant Iathan (with an i), then I have no idea how you would pronounce that, and neither will his teachers at school, or anyone else he meets. E-ath-an? Eye-a-than? No idea.

Growing up with a last name that is NOT that difficult to pronounce, yet everyone always butchered it wasn't great. I look forward to when I get married and I have a better last name. Thank goodness the only problem I ever had with my first name was people deciding without my permission to use the shorter version of my name.

So, as for my opinion, if you meant Lathan, then I don't think it's horrible, but I don't like it that much. If you meant Iathan with an i, I don't like it at all, because I have no idea how to pronounce it.

If you're pregnant, congratulations, and good luck in finding just the right name. :)

Not sure- Lathan as in Lay-than sounds a bit like lathe- the woodworking tool...I actually quite like Iathan, pronounced Yayth-an...like Jason but different, though it can sound a bit like your trying to say Jason but have a lisp...

It's interesting, but sounds like your mispronouncing Nathan or Ethan. How about Latham instead. Seems easier to say.

Well, personally I chose Lathem for my daughter. I have a friend that chose Laken for her son.
