I dont think she asked for people to attack her about her question.
Does it hurt?
It depends on how it is performed if you just take the pills it may be painful but if you have the iv (which will cost more) isnt painful.
And you will be given pain reliver afterwards.
When will your peroid return?
First you'll bleed for about 2-3 weeks just like if you were to have a baby and then you should get on birth control so your peroid should go back to normal soon after.
I realy suggest that you make sure this is what you want and get someone to talk to.

I will answer part of this. Yes, they hurt, both the woman and the fetus. It is very wrong. There are too many people that want to adopt a child and give it a home and love. Why don't people stop being so selfish and thinking only of themselves when they consider having an abortion. The few months that a person has to give up for whatever reason to carry and deliver a child is but only a fleeing moment in a lifetime. the unborn child should have a chance at life just as you have had a chance. Cruelty is becoming a way of life these days. I only hope we all learn that life begins at conception. Why murder ones own flesh and blood. It's beyond me.

You can get your period anywhere from 4-8 weeks after the abortion.
Generally it does not hurt any more than heavy cramping. Depending on the clinic, you will either be out completely or concious but drugged up. I don't know what the abortion pill is like but i have heard that is more painful
Emotionally you might hurt more, you just have to be sure of your decision and take care of yourself after. It is normal to grieve....don't let anybody tell you you can't grieve

Go to http://www.abortion.com to read about it
Q | Will the surgical abortion hurt?
A | A surgical abortion can cause cramping, similar to cramping experienced with a menstrual period. Pain medication is given before and after the procedure. Remember the procedure lasts 5-10 minutes, depending on how far you are into the pregnancy. With assistance of the surgical assistant and the pain medication, you will be able to get through the procedure with minimal difficulty.

I just had a surgical aboriton three days ago and I am on my period now. The doctor told me the abortion will induce period. However, they give you pills to practically stop the bleeding for the first couple of days, after they run out you should have a normal period. It didn't hurt because they numb your cervix. Most clinics will try to make the procedure/experience as comfortable as possible.

What types of abortion procedures are there? There are two methods of abortion:
Surgical abortion is the most common type of procedure. This is an invasive medical procedure that is done in a hospital or abortion facility. There are different methods of abortion that are performed throughout all 9 months of pregnancy. It is important that you know the exact method involved in the abortion and the possible risks and complications that can occur. To be informed read the information under “Surgical Abortion”.
Chemical abortion, also known as RU-486, is a combination of pharmaceutical drugs that can be taken orally or by injection to cause an abortion. The process requires multiple doctor visits and induces severe cramping and bleeding which women experience on average 7-30 days. There is the possibility of adverse side effects and/or other complications. See Emergency Contraceptive Pills for more information.
Are there complications? There are risks involved, and it is important that you understand how the complications and side effects can impact you. There are many possible physical complications which may include: infection, damage to the uterus, infertility, increased risk of future miscarriages, premature births, and an increased risk of breast cancer.
"Incomplete abortions occur too. Read Gianna Jessen's life story, who is the survivor of an incomplete abortion."
Psychological complications are often experienced by women who choose abortion. After an abortion, both women and men can experience: depression, low self-esteem, crying episodes, nightmares, anxiety attacks and difficulty in personal relationships. For information about how abortion might affect your future click on “Psychological complications”.
Are there long-term effects from an abortion? The after effects of abortion can be painful. It is normal for women and men to grieve after a pregnancy loss by miscarriage or abortion. Hope after abortion will help you understand the healing process and receive assistance for you or someone else dealing with a prior abortion experience.
There can be long term effects from an abortion, here is a woman's experience.
We almost aborted our oldest son.
Here is another woman's account of a regretful abortion.
There are emotional responses, referred to as Post-Abortion Syndrome, that include grieving, self-destructive tendencies, and substance abuse. For more information on PAS see “Post-Abortion Syndrome” by David Reardon, Ph.D., Easton Publishing 1999.
Hope you find the info your looking for. Remember its a baby!!!! And has the right to live as much as you do!!!!

I just put up a post about this like two weeks ago, asking if it hurts... I had to get an abortion for medical reasons, my doc told me I was almost 6 weeks. It was the scariest thing in the world when I went in there!! I went with my mom and best friend, and when they called me in to have the actual procedure I was shaking and I was white. I couldn't believe this was going on, I never thought I would have to do it, but I did. I wasn't getting anesthesia, I was getting a Local.. that was it. I sat in a room with a couple of really sweet girls while I was crying asking them if it was going to hurt, they said NO, b/c they had them before, and they acted like they didn't even care which was so bizarre. Then I got called in and i was sooo scared! I layed on a table with a nurse talking to me and being really sweet. Then liek an HOUR later the doc came in (meanwhile I had been laying on a table with my legs up in the air for like 30 min) and he put a dildo like object in me and I freaked out, to see how far along.. and then she gave me the needle with a local in it in my arm, and i felt faint, and I just remember yelling and lot, and them telling me to calm down./ and him telling me he was putting a needle in me down there, didn't hurt as much as a i thought it would.. it was like a heavy pulling feeling and i remember screaming a lot b/c i have a low pain tolerance., it was so damn quick tho, the doctor was great and all the people there were so nice. It ended so fast I couldn't believe it. I kept asking OMG it was so short?? I bled for a few days and have had weird cramps in my lower and upper abdomen, but its not bad at all after. For me at least. I would reccomend getting put to sleep b/c I couldn't handle being awake for it. Then again I only have had sex with two guys in my life, and i never had an exam before, so the very thought of a stranger inside me was scary,.. let alone all the other stuff.. Any other questions u can email me! PLus dont listen to those ppl that say u will be all depressed and disgusted after it is over, b/c unless u harp on it day and nite... u won't have to be upset. Its your choice.. just move on in your life and you will be fine.

Depends on the woman and what kind of an abortion she has. Ask your doctor or call Planned Parenthood.
