I have worn pads and they are just so uncomfortable. But i dont know much about tampons. Which do you think is better for a teenager, tampons or pads?

Both. Tampons during the day (change them every 3 hours or sooner) and pads at night. If you wear the same tampon for a long time, you will increase your chances of getting toxic shock syndrome. There are pads that have "wings" that will minimize leakage at night.

My grandmother introduced me to tampons when I was a teenager and I have made sure my daughters and granddaughters knew about them. Now days they come in neat little applicators and several sizes. You may want to dampen or gel the tip the first few time you insert them. They will not harm your hymen if you are still a virgin.
They are so comfortable and clean that you may forget you are even menstruating. That is where you can get into trouble, so be sure to change the tampon as often as you would a pad. Because the tampon "plugs" your vagina, the discharge stays inside and if not removed can start to degrade, causing toxins to be re-absorbed into your system. Toxic Shock can cause death, but it is easily avoided by simply changing the tampon. A lot of women use pads at night and tampons during the day. It is a good plan and completely negates any health problem.
Whatever you decide, a plain warm water douche after your period is over a nice idea.

I'm 28 now, but I've used tampons since I've first started getting my period. I've only used pads a handful of times when I didn't have tampons with me and needed to borrow something from a friend, and I really hate them.

It's a little difficult to get used to the tampons at first. Since you're a teenager, I would say to get the smallest size of tampons that are available, and read the instructions thoroughly.

Tampons are safe, and they are very comfortable (you can't feel them at all) once they are inside the way they should be. Tampons also allow you to be able to participate in sports and even go swimming normally while you're on your period. You should check regularly to make sure you're not bleeding through, and never leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours at a time.

I definitly prefer tampons. I used pads for a while because I was scared to use tampons, but I am SO glad I tried them. Tampons are all I wear now, except to bed. They are so much cleaner/fresher, and I feel like I can do a lot more with them then pads, and I don't have to worry about leaks! Just make sure you change them regularly so you don't get an infection. and make sure the first time you use them, you are relaxed, and don't force it in. I use tampax pearl, these are the most comfortable for me. Make sure you use a plastic applicator, they are a lot easier to get in. You may want to try starting with the lowest absorbency, until you get used to them :) Goodluck.

Well, there's a certain age where you cant wear tampons till a age. Pads can be a bit bulky and a bit uncomfortable. So it depends on you and how you feel with them. I think it was if you are under 14 or 15 you cant wear tampons yet.

Tampons are comfortable but they are not always safe...that's why all the tampons come with warnings in the box. Some people die from Toxic Shock Syndrome from bacteria using tampons. I'm not kidding. Please do some research.
