A computer needs a 15% free space... to work out just right, then defragment them. If you need more good services, upgrade your RAM.

when you first purchase a computer it will be fast (most of the time) because you have not put all your software apps on yet. Over time, after you have your apps on and you use them more, your computer will slow dowm. You can use spybot to remove the spyware, but remember to only install ONE spyware remover. If you have more than one, they will conflict with each other. Also, as far as I am concerned Norton is a HORRIBLE resource hogging program. I would remove it and use AVG free edition or Avast free edition. I use Avast and love it, and i have installed AVG on many clients computers and they love it. Another thing you need to do is De-frag your computer on a regular basis. This helps put everything in its place and helps the computer use less memory trying to find files or programs. To do this go to Start ---> Control panel ---->Administrative Tools ----> Computer Management ---->then look to the left pane of the window and click on Disk Defragmenter and follow these directions...Highlight the C drive in the top window then click Analyze. Then it will tell you after it analyzes, whether you need to defrag or not. If this doesnt help the problem, check your disk usage and if you still have alot of disk space then you need to probably add more Ram.Let me know if this helps. if not, i have a few more suggestions.

a regular defraging and registry cleaning helps out alot. a possible virus or trojan and such can slow the performance. all the norton and such you listed are crap. goto www.prevx.com and download the trial program. before doing this, disable your norton program. run the trial program of prevx and if it finds something it will get rid of it. it is the full running program, not a partial one. read what it has to say about the trial. also just do what it says to install the program and run. if it finds something, this may be what is slowing your system, if not then it's time for a new install of your OS. some people do this twice a year to keep their system running smoothly, i do it once or twice myself. just save what you want to disk and reforat the drive and insert the XP disk and it will do the rest for you..

all computers are fast when you first get them because you don't have many programs. As time goes on you gradually build up more and more which puts a strain on your computer. Make sure programs are not running in the back ground and you have at least 512 MB of ram. How old is your computer? Even a computer 2 years old will have difficulty keeping up with new programs. Its tempting to download loads of small programs which claim to keep your life and computer in order but really they probably slow you down more. keep to the programs you really need and regularly run any maintenance programs you have

If you use Limewire, there is a better than even chance that is runs all the time on your computer, allowing the downloading of the things you downloaded. In other words, they are using your computer without your permission. But heck, that is what you get when you pirate music.

Make sure you have 15% to 25% free space. Defragment your hard drive. If your machine is clean of little buggies that you say you're clear of, then you last option is to format your drive and reinstall the OS. I like to do this about once a year. (Well, "like" is a relative term - it's more like something that helps out a lot.)

i would add in spyware blaster
get a copy of norton ghost, from me or the web
reinstall your os to about a 4-6 gig c: partition. in the registry, move your profile directory, and your program files directory to a larger d: partition.
after configureing everything just teh way you like it, make an image.
if ur pc ever gets broke or wat not, just take 5 minutes to run back the image. you completely reinstall windows, drivers, apps, and make all your favorite changes in a matter of 5 mintues while norton ghost does all the work.

sounds like you have spyware.......take off adaware. See what is running at start-up. Download webroot. Run it and see what happens and defrag it.
