How would your friends characterize you? look at yourself from the side of other people and analyze your character in such a way. My enlish teacher Mr. Hogart asked us to write an essay on this topic and i have no idea what my introduction should be. Please create one for me!!! I write formally when i write my essays, so yes and as i have an private teacher in english she tells me to write it formally so yes , i think you have to write it formally!
