I don't know about the importance but kids do better in charter schools becuase the teacher are acountable for their action. Unlike regular government school the principal really make sure the teacher teach the student otherwise he/she gonna lose his/her job. So he/she make sure the teacher make kids learn. So basically the power goes to the students rather then the system completely controling the process. Also parents of the kids who goes to charter schools usually help (homework ect..)the kids in order to be in the charter school

I wish every government (public) schools work like charter schools where the system don't completely controling the whole process. Hope my answer help
