300 is based on a graphic novel by Frank Millar who is the creater of Sin City.
The movie is not out yet but it stands to be a real action movie full of outstanding battle scenes. In the pace of Millars writings, I would expect it to be like what most war movies are suppose to be.
Look up Frank Millar and you may find the novel, (if you don't mind the spoilers)

It's coming out in march in the usa, i really wanna see it. It looks awesome.
