There is no law that says you have to pay the income tax and the IRS is private and has no right to seize your property.

16th amendment does not give anyone the right to tax the LABOR of the american people. The supreme court has ruled on this before. However the PRIVATE IRS ignores this because it is a mafia.

If you believe the 16th amendment allows this, you are oblivious to your rights as an American.

Document 100.0.8.0 # 20 of 38 ...The 16th Amendment
was not ratified! The Income Tax is therefore illegal.
Note: As goes our nation in the push by the Socialist Council on Foreign
Relations, so goes the rest of the "free" world. The CFR through its
enforcement arm, the Communist United Nations, will eventually eliminate all
freedom in this world. Only you and I can stop it. Removing the funding
provided directly by the US Taxpayer (all of our income taxes go out of the
country) will be a huge blow to the Elitists who seek to be the world
dictator thru the UN.

Those are common allegations from a number of fringe sites.
If you're interested in checking out the facts for yourself, here are some sources:
- For the income tax laws, check out the U.S. Code title 26:

Just out of curiosity, what is the basis for the claim that the IRS is private? Can you cite an authoritative reference?

So the 16th Amendment is not legal?
So if it isn't legal, then don't pay. And tell us what happens - if they let you use a computer in prison. . .
Addition:
So, in NOT paying your income taxes, where in the world do you think that the money for all of the government programs and such should come from? And what about those social security benefits you think you are entitled to when you reach the age? See, the government doesn't have bake sales, and they don't sell candy bars to raise money. So, as much of an inconvenience it is to pay income taxes, and as much as we don't like paying them, it serves a purpose. And it is something that is a necessary evil. So if you don't like paying the taxes, then leave. . . The borders all go both ways - in and out.

Unfortunately income tax is legal. All we can do is cut as many liberal programs as possible, starting with social security. We should cut the amount we pay our politicians, and reduce the government by at least half.Once we did that a small national sales tax would be enough to fun the military and we would not need income tax.We would have to pay the elderly already on social security and those that don't have time to save their own retirement, but let the rest of us take care of our selves.

You are correct. Not very many people are aware that having to pay income tax is unconstitutional. Did you know that the IRS was developed during wartime to ease the economic downslide? Did you know that the IRS was supposed to be discontinued after the war?

I'm curious if you will still be asking this question from your jail cell. Look, nobody likes paying taxes. Nobody likes going to the dentist either, but it has to be done. And since I'm paying my taxes, you damn sure better be paying yours.

Did you ever hear of the 16th amendment?
Amendment XVI
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
