no I separate them buy color, put the red ones on one cupcake, the yellow on the other and so on so on and i can Stan when the sprinkles touch each other.

Yes. 24 sprinkles per cupcake. Twelve per half-cupcake. 6 per quarter-cupcake. Three per eighth-cupcake. Unless the cupcakes are twice as large, and then everything is naturally doubled. Or if they are halfsize cupcakes, then everything is of course halved. The number of sprinkles counts. Otherwise they taste very bitter and evil.

i like to pour the sprinkles into a dish and then dip the tops of each ofthe cupcakes in it--maximum sprinkle coverage this way

i have to make sure that each one has exactly 17 and a half sprinkles. Otherwise, i just cant eat it! it would make me feel guilty.

Oh no..that would take way too long.
JUst grab a small handful and toss them. Eventually, you'll find that they fall in pretty even distribution.
