Just in case the day comes and you can't think of any good poem as not many are poetic, you may and he may not. A short paragraph of love confession is good enough. If there were to be someone I love, I always like the idea of her being the first and the last person I see each day. That having her love makes me feel every problem in this world is so small and can easily be overcome. And no matter how poor I am, the moments in her arms makes me feel I'm the richest man in this world.
Hope this gives you some inspirations.

How Little in Me Is Not Touched by You
How little in me is not touched by you!
A friendship is a light that fills the heart,
Painting with its gold each darkened hue,
Providing warmth to each sequestered part.
You are the mirror of my better self,
Verifier of the best in me,
A bridge across the unsuspected gulf
Lodged between what can and ought to be.
Expectations can be wings, not bars,
Necessary to sustain our flight.
The faith of friends in us is wholly ours,
Incoming to uplift us to its height.
No soul can see itself, but must depend,
Each on each, upon a trusted friend.

I Wish You Were My Valentine
I wish you were my Valentine
Though I may not be yours,
And I may, in my ignorance,
Be speaking to closed doors.
I have no inkling of your heart,
No hint what you might say;
But when I think of you the sun
Will just not go away.
There is in you a loveliness
That makes my darkness shine,
And so I'll wait, if wait I must,
To be your Valentine.

It's Amazing How I Feel When I'm Around You
It's amazing how I feel when I'm around you,
How my heart pounds when you come into a room.
I look at you and think: My God! How lovely!
And everything I am bursts into bloom.
I feel as though you must, you must be mine,
Not as a possession but a goal,
Something almost unimaginable:
The free devotion of another soul.
As though I were about to enter heaven
Or just within the hour condemned to die,
My mind with one fierce thought keeps running over,
With you, and only you, the reason why.

Where does a fallen star go once it has left the sky?
It comes to a hidden place and is captured in my eyes.
Where it waits quietly and still waiting for you to appear, and
then it shines and glimmers brightly whenever you are near.
Forever gone from its place within the heavens above,
now to stay with me always and help proclaim my love.

If you are a person that can't express themselves by verbal, writing down your feelings is a good thing.
My fave poem is:
"How Do I Love Thee" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
And of course, "She Walks in Beauty" by Lord Byron.
On the other hand, it is good to write up something of your own to express yourself, can be anything but not tooo harmful!!!!
Peace & Love!

I miss you terribly this day of love,
Miss you with a wound that stabs and aches.
I see the love around me, and it takes
So much strength simply just to move.
Soon, soon, my love, this waiting will be done.
You and I will have what we desire.
On days like this we'll sit beside the fire,
Undoing all the pain of days long gone.
I hope this helps!

once in a while we find someone,
who makes us feel so good,
who seems to understand us so well,
and when things are going well,
is there to share the fun,
and then we hav something new to enjoy,
in a way few ppl could be that someone,
once in a while we find someone,
one whom we can depend,
i no, because i found u.
