First, interior the spirit of comprehensive disclosure, i'm a Devils fan. That pronounced, I trust people who cite the Flyers achieved previous. they have finished some stable issues of their history and function had some success in modern-day times. they have even gained the Cup two times (decrease than the different team of their branch, yet who's counting); consecutive wins that's surprising. nevertheless, i've got self belief the question asks in the event that they seem to be a foul team, no longer a foul franchise. gazing them this 300 and sixty 5 days, the respond ought to be "confident". Any team ranked decrease than the Islanders can not be stable, spectacular? The team enjoying final nighttime appeared very outmatched. i be attentive to the Devils appeared stable, yet to be nicely user-friendly, the Devils are no longer the 2013 Blackhawks. If the Flyers weren't undesirable, that would desire to have been a miles extra aggressive interest. Their goaltending is sub-par (and that i being type). The offense has been offensive. Defensively, nicely look what Loktionov did on that toe drag circulate to attain. specific communities..nicely, i think of the PP could be good; the Devils scored a SH objective, yet Kovy has 4 on the season already and the gang has 8. they might smash a record in a shortened season, no? So, anybody asserting they seem to be a stable team spectacular now needs to place down the crack. in the event that they do no longer seem to be a stable team, and that they might't declare to be mediocre, then they might desire to be undesirable, spectacular?

Flyers goal tending has been a question mark for some time and with the new NHL rules to open up the ice and the game is allot faster Bobby Clarke did nothing to improve the team. Hatcher only good when he can grab another player hes to slow and can't skate. Forsberg always injured and the retirement of Keith Primeau and Eric Desjardin that didn't help either. they will need to build from the ground up like most teams do instead of trading all there prospects for older veterans that are past there prime.

A combination of injuries and poor goaltending have led to the Flyers' collapse. Esche and Nittymakki have been atrocious in net providing far from NHL-level netminding and with Forsberg's chronic ankle issues and his quest for better fitting, supportive skates cutting into his playing time, usual stars such as Simon Gagne and Mike Knuble have suffered drops in performance. Look for Forsberg to be traded to one of several current suitors, i.e. Carolina, New York Rangers, or Detroit as Philly looks to get something for Forsberg before free agency takes effect.

Sometimes your team just has a bad season or two and you have to scratch your head, cringe, and bear it. The Sabres were sooo bad in the years right after their Cup run, and there was no real reason for it. From one fan to another, just hang on and give them some time to build a better team. Look at my Sabres; given a few years, they're now fabulous!

They did not build a team to accomodate the changes that are here, and were coming to the 'new' NHL'. Bobby Clarke got caught flashing back to his own glory days, acquiring size and toughness, instead of speed and skill. I've watched them play a few times this season, and I'm gald their defencemen wear orange sweaters, they now look like the pylons that they tend to be. Goaltending, Goaltending...Any contender in the history of the game, had solid goaltending. I like Peter Forsberg, but enough, he can't get out of bed in the morining without spraining something...time to ditch and rebuild...Zhitnik, Gauthier, Hatcher, Rathje...best defensive core in the NHL....ten years ago....Just my opinion....

The Flyers organization has gone stagnant and Bobby Clarke can also be blamed.
Firing Ken Hitchcock earlier in the season was to premature as well.

Its all the bad Karma that Booby Clarke earned, most recently his cynical $1.9M offer to Kesler on the Canucks (obviously a malicious move and not a business deal in the interests of his club, like a lot of his moves) Anyway there you go Bob, there's your bed, lie in it.
