I agree with you completely. This is a classic case of the Bell Curve in action, where Africa has the lowest IQ (per capita) on planet Earth. Sometimes you have to say enough is enough, and enough with white guilt.

Ok a few things hun.... First off this is not a white America it is just America... There are a mix of people in the states some asian some white some mexicans and some blacks and a lot more... Second, Africa has white people also. The U.S.A. is one of the richest countries in the world and we help a lot of other places not just Africa. Part of the problem with there being food shortages there is the white farmers that go over there for profit from all over the world. How can a poor farmer compete with a rich white farmer that goes of there and hires all the people for more money then their own people can pay ? Then what happens is the poor farmers cant even feed their families because they cant compete with the rich farmers. Our government has things they do to stop this like government grants for poor farmers and other programs for small family farms. We can not say they are wrong for telling people they have to leave because that is what their government can afforded to do, they don't have the fundings to put grants and programs in effect so they do what they can. We have a lot of things we take for granted here in the USA, so now when ever a country like Africa does what they have to we freak out. If you want something to really talk about ask where those diamonds your gonna get for valentines day come from and read into how many people loose their life over those then we can talk about how some of us fund the deaths in Africa.

America was founded on principals from the Bible . We are encouraged to care one for the other without regard to race or color. This includes adults children men and woman. I don;t really understand exactly why the government of Africa has taken this stand with the White Farmers there. I know that many years ago Americans were sent to Africa to HELP African farmers learn to irrigate fields, rotate crops, and preserve food. After a while they were supposed to leave and allow African farmers run their own farms. This was a very noble idea but some of the white assistants never left. Instead White helpers became white owners and after a while almost all the profitable farms were owned by Whites and the people who were supposed to receive assistance were out of a farm and no more trained than before. Whites need to stop ruining other peoples lives and start running their own. If you think that Whites are so wonderful and above reproach then you need to take a good hard look at the AMERICAN INDIANS. We did the same thing to them. Signed :: A very ashamed member of a very self-righteous, selfish, pigheaded, greedy WHITE Race. May GOD and those who we have wronged forgive us and may we wake up and become what GOD wants us to be. Brothers and sisters in Christ with all the people of Gods Family.

I read the article and am confused by it. It would seem to me that if the re-allocation of land is necessary then it would behoove the government to leave the white farmers in place to train the black farmers till they are able to successfully take over operations.
Maybe I am way too simplistic here but I would hope that Mugabe would put the health and welfare of the ppl ahead of any racial bias.
I wish there could be a more "hands on" approach to this problem rather than just discussing it here on yahoo answers. Something like this deserves so much better. Perhaps you can allow your passion for the situation to help open new doors on behalf of the starving ppl. It is unimportant if the bread comes from a black hand or a purple one if a person is starving. Thank you for bringing this up.

Note that your article is about Zimbabwe, not about Africa as a whole.
Are you saying Americans should not attempt to help children starving in Rwanda, Congo, Somolia, etc.....because the government of Zimbabwe made some foolish decisions on land reform?
Even if it is the government of Zimbabwe's fault that their people are starving, do we not as human beings have an obligation to help our fellow man? Would it make a difference to you if instead of it being a different country, it was simply a different state? Would you say that, for example, Californians shouldn't offer aid to people in New Orleans because their local and state government's made poor choices?
And, just curious, do you have any idea how much $$ the US spends on foreign aid? What percentage of the money spent by our government goes to helping people in other countries (including or not including the Iraq war, your choice)?

You shouldn't base all of your information on yahoo news. I think it is important that people should care for each other no matter where they are. Everyone should care for every hungry, sick and dying child in the world, no matter where they are. A little bit of humanity in this dangerous world goes along way. "White farmers" have not fed Africa, no one is feeding Africa. Africa is experincing terrible drought in some parts and horrible flooding in others. You don't know that the African people do not feel for the starving children of Africa. In fact to have a better knowledge of Africa you should go there and see for yourself. I have and it breaks the heart. The people are as people are anywhere and should not suffer as they have suffered brutally through colonial times. They are relatively "young" in their independance-South Africa has not had it's own government until the 90s with Nelson Mandela. There is hope for them and their governments, but of course who anywhere and really say any country has any ideal government? But how would one define an ideal government? The demise of Africa is due to AIDS, the people are being denied the drugs, they can't afford to pay for them. Innocents are dying in the hundreds of thousands...millions are perishing. I think everyone should be aware and help the little children that will grow up without parents and will die young themselves. There are little children in my country that are the same, and I care of all the little children that make up 52+million orphans in the world. The governments of Africa are indebt to the World Bank, that told them that their loans would be limitless and could pay when they could. Like all banks that was a lie told to take advantage of a crippled nation. Everyone should care for Africa, North & South America, Europe, Middle East, Far East, South Pacific, Asia, Austrailia, new Zealand, Greenland, Iceland = The whole world over. Are we not human to cry over sadness, to laugh at joy, to feel anger at evil? Are we not human to have these emotions over our fellow humanbeings? Are we not humanbeings to care over the straving little children of Africa as we would little children of our own country's children. Children are the innocent and would we not weep as their parents do when they die when they deserve to live full and happy lives?

Technically no body is suppposed ro give a sh#t about starving blacks in Africa or anybody in ur home or in ur neighborhood etc etc. The problem is that people mess up sometime so I like to deal with the mess so that I can live in peace and no one (out of those deprived) comes to rob me.

Because white Americans are the ones pushing a one world order and global economy. Africa is still full of natural resources. The African people have been ripped off for hundreds of years -- diamonds, slavery, cocoa crops, natural metals. China is smart enough to invest in Africa. When white Americans see what China is setting up, they'll be ready to go to war to get the wealth themselves and push China out.

The reason why white america should care about starving people in Africa because they have a right to. Were all living in this world and we should care about the people in it. How would you feel if you were starving in Africa you would want somebody to feed you? I know I would.

That is a complex question and involves more than just the feel-good answer that most would give. I believe it is our moral obligation to try despite the obscene way that help is being stolen or wasted on a seemingly hopeless situation.
