I need to know if I have to buy a new USB cable when I order this printer, or if I can use my old cable. Thanks!

Your old usb cable will work just fine with the Dell printer. There's no need for you to get a new cable even if you have the 1.0 usb cable.

Should be no reason your old USB cable wouldn't work with the new printer.

In order to use a USB 2.0 device, which is a lot faster than a 1.0 device, you need a cable specifically rated to handle the extra speed.
