I've heard it said that there are only two certainties in this life. They are death and taxes.

Why are Republicans so opposed to paying their fair share of taxes?

rich people have loopholes and so pay less than the middle class of citizens. The poor join the military to get an education.
Then get sent to Iraq. I read where the most soldiers were Democrats. Very few Republican soldiers.
I find that supriseing.

Greed and more greed. If the rich paid there fair share it would lift burdens from the middle class. Government has become so corrupt and lax that there is no fairness to most of us. They Conservatives claim that when the rich get tax breaks and that means big business they will spread the wealth in investments and wages and research. They spread it amongst themselves. Look at the salaries of CEO s. Are they increasing the salary's of the workers at such a rate. That does not prove out.
What we need are Representatives with the morality to say enough is enough. All of Bush's tax cuts affected the average worker at a gain of about 300.00 a year and millions and even Billions for Oil and other powerful companies.
Mean while the average American is paying more for Insurance for Health Care and Property Taxes. Our roads and infrastructure is rotting away. Why? Because the Federal Government does not return to the citizens and the States what they deserve. It is going to the rich. Not all rich people are evil of course but there is to much greed.

maximum individuals do no longer pay 0 income taxes. They pay state and city or county income taxes and assets taxes and sales taxes. maximum working people make fifty thousand a 365 days. you're taking 9 % from them on their finished income, with not one of the well-known deductions for loan interest and baby care and their gross is extensively larger. meanwhile the best cost is going down lower back on the rich, from 35% to 9%. somewhat a mark downs, and their gross income might nicely be decreased via no taxes on capital beneficial components. So 2 issues replace into obvious, the midsection classification pays extra, the wealthy pay much less, and its no longer in all probability flat, or the rich would not safeguard their unique deductions. What easy share potential is that in case you're making extra you pay extra. no longer in case you're making extra I pay extra to hide your privilege.

If the taxes were fair, that is everybody pays the same percentage, I'm sure Republicans would not object.

Bear in mind that the ideal tax rate is 18% to 20%. Any lower and many needed services, such as the military and road construction, do not get sufficient funding. Any higher and achievement is thwarted, plus the politicians start using the excess as a slush fund for the stupidest pork-barrel projects.

Truth is tax increases never affect the wealthest they have lawyers, and accountants to reduce tax liabilites. Each time democrats raise taxes it hurts the people making $100,000 to $300,000 a year. Those people making that income range are the ones getting creamed by tax increases not the billionares, and the democrats tend to smoke the issuse of taxation that makes me puke.

How can you say there is a fair share of taxes when the income tax is not legal? There is no law that says you have to pay and the IRS is private and has no right to seize your property for not paying.

That's simply not true . Shame on you .What decent veteran would feed into the liberal democrat agenda when you know they deplete our military at every turn ? When a Republican President , such as G.W.Bush has done , says we can balance the budget without raising taxes - what's wrong with that ? What you are suggesting is a little redundant .
And people like ginger1 up there crack me up because if they bothered to open their eyes - they'd see that the Clinton's ; Kerry's; Kennedy's ; etc.. are not exactly standing in a soup line . How many millions & billions $$ does it take before they admit they are rich - without acting like they are poor with the poor ?

Do not know who has fed you this kind of garbage, but it is not true. Republicans do not oppose to paying their own share of taxes, they just oppose having to pay taxes , that provides you with welfare, when your able to work. Get off your bums and find a job, pay your taxes. Ever heard the one who screams the loudest is usually the guilty one, so , your guilty, get a job and pay up. You need to stop reading the trash and get educated.

So many people lose sight of the fact that the wealthier people pay more of the tax burden in this country than others. It is easy to say they do not pay enough when You do not understand the tax structure. Sure they may hide income through tax shelters etc but they still pay more in the end than others. Ger off the old idea and face reality. The people who complain the most are usually the ones that pay the least.

It's always been the case of the richer you are, the less you share. Poor people donate more to charity and pay more in taxes (per capita) than the wealthy. It's selfishness and greed. I have always thought of the Republican party as the party of "f**k you, I've got mine".

Really, has a former Republican President ever done anything for anyone other than himself after leaving office? Jimmy Carter started Habitat for Humanity, Clinton is doing charity work for good causes...what did Regan or Bush I do? They only see themselves.
I don't love to pay my taxes, but I do. I just wish I got something back for them, like decent universal health care, like the rest of the free world. Instead most of the tax cuts benefit the wealthy, who coincidentally support Bush.
