I think a successful life is defined as a life that YOU (not others) think was worth wild. If, by the end, you are happy with how life, overall, turned out and feel you did the things you wanted to do. In the end success is determined by fulfilling ones own wishes and dreams to the best of your own ability.

Some define success in terms of money, career advancement, family, etc... but that form of success doesn't work for everyone and not everyone needs those things to feel successful in life. Success is setting a life goal and accomplishing it to the point to which you find satisfactory.

Success doesn't mean fame & fortune. Though these things might be nice! Real success is being happy with who you are. You could be a millionaire & still not be successful if you are miserable and don't like yourself. You are successful when you have what you want & want what you have. When you love yourself, others, the world & the life that you live. Very few people actually achieve success. Some people may seem to "have it all" financially but they are still unhappy, stressed & seem to have a never-ending drive for more. No matter how much they have it will never be enough, they never feel successful because they are unhappy & all the money in the world won't help.

Love yourself above all. That is success. Easier said than done, I know. But it can be done. Thinking positive, taking care of yourself, realizing your worth as a person & then acting accordingly, doing what's best for you.

I really dont know how should one define a "successfuk life" (mind the typos ;-)) but if u want the definition of a "successful life" , then, a quote by Arthur Miller explains everything.
" Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets. "

Therefore as per me and Arthur Miller, if you end with the right and a very few number of regrets, ur life could qualify as a "successful life" ....

Human person is a unique and multi dimensional being. Therefore the success of each one depends on the perspective through which each one looks for success. Ultimately there is only one final success for every one, i.e attaining salvation. Therefore which dimension you take your life to a success it should finally lead to this ultimate success. If not all other successes, whether economical, academical, social, political..etc are in vain. You being most successful man in the world if you miss your way towards salvation, you are only a successful fool! Usually the successful men in the earthly matters are away from their salvation. But those who are successful through righteous and just ways are always and truly successful.

Successful life is one in which there are opportunities to develop your talents.A life that is inspiring to others, and this will happen if you a have a helping and benevolent attitude towards all.You can radiate warmth only when your heart is pure.A successful life does not mean breeding children, grooming them, eating well, caring little for the underdogs and underprivileged.

I think a successful life would have nothing to do with your personal wealth. I feel success comes from how "content" you feel with your life - what you have done and what you are doing.
