MGB is the most reliable, and makes the least power - also pretty easy to work on. You get what you pay for. '73 is the best year - just before plastic bumpers and pollution control. Triumphs are pretty expensive, except for the TR7 and TR8 - with good reason. Skip the Alfa Spyder - you'd be better off with a 205 series Alfetta GTV. Best of the bunch, but (like all sports cars, a little temperamental).
Good luck!

I'd pick the MGB. I've driven a number of them as my daily driver. As for year, I prefer the 1969. It seems to have a nice mix of pre emissions performance but has the full syncro tansmission. An overdrive is a must for interstate driving. The MGC is also another good ride. Mind you none of the cars you list are care free. You'd better like tinkering if you want them as daily drivers.

Goodness is this a daily driver? Cheap? All of these cars mentioned need special attention.
If i had to pick one of those I would pic the one with fuel injection?? Do any have it?, but i am too lazy to mess with carbs on a seasonal basis.
Maybe if you open it up to other choices I would pic first gen Mazda miata. It was a tribute to those aforementioned cars and remains a mainstay to the roots; small car, minimal features, enough power to have fun. Plus it reinstated that market when many American manufactures dropped their small sports cars.
Ether way good luck,
KC

If you are looking for reliable then maybe you should consider something besides an older british sports car or the alfa.

The first 3 come from the same auto manufacturer. The english cars leak oil, though. It is an old car. The new ones are made by the Japanese. So they should be better.

Mazda Miata, Toyota MR-2, Honda S2000.
If you're looking for reliable, you're looking for one of those. If you're asking about reliability, you are not prepared for the cars you listed. Those are what is generally referred to as a "labor of love."
edit: No, dude, you don't want the one with fuel injection. Pre-OBD fuel injection was often a nightmare to diagnose if anything went wrong (******* L-JETRONIC!). Any shade-tree mechanic can fix a carb. You need an expert to handle old fuel-injected cars, or else you're just going to throw parts at it till it's fixed.

Reliable and "sports car" are mutually exclusive term bud. Foreign or domestic, they're high end autos, and they're expensive to maintain. If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it!
